Herbert Mundin, 'The Man
of 1000 Faces' in scenes from his many films
This website is a tribute to Herbert
Thomas Mundin, the English character actor and
comedian who was born in St.Helens, Lancashire in 1898
and brought up in St.Albans, Hertfordshire. Herbert spent
the 1920s on the stage in Britain, New York and
Australia, appearing in many revues and plays. Throughout
the 1930s, he was cast in sixty films, often to provide
comic relief and was dubbed "The Man of 1000
Faces" and "The Great Hollywood Scene
Stealer".
I have collected dozens of photographs of Herbert over
the last few years and am delighted to share them. If you
are able to contribute any more photos or information,
please do contact me. Thank you! - Stephen Wainwright
(site owner, St.Helens, England)
